Effective July 7, 2026 · Families Out Loud, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

Families Out Loud ("we," "us") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit family-building community. We know the topics we cover are personal. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect through familiesoutloudevents.com and our events, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Tickets. Ticket purchases are processed by Eventbrite. Eventbrite shares attendee details (such as name and email) with us so we can run the event. Payment card details go to Eventbrite, not to us. Eventbrite's own privacy policy applies to their processing.
  • Donations. Donations are processed by our payment partners (such as Givebutter and Stripe). We receive donor name, email, and gift amount for receipting and acknowledgment; card details stay with the payment processor.
  • Newsletter and contact. If you join our newsletter or email us, we keep your email address and correspondence so we can respond and keep you updated.
  • Analytics and advertising. We use the Meta Pixel and similar analytics tools, which use cookies to measure how the site is used and how our outreach performs. We may use an IP-based lookup solely to suggest the event city nearest to you; we do not store your precise location.

How we use it

  • To run our events — tickets, check-in, room blocks, and attendee communications.
  • To receipt and acknowledge donations, as required of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
  • To send updates you asked for, like newsletter issues and new city announcements. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • To understand what's working on the site and reach people who may benefit from our events.

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share attendee lists with sponsors. Anything you share with us about your family-building journey stays with us unless you explicitly ask us to share it (for example, contributing your story to our blog).

Cookies and choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Meta's ad targeting through your Meta ad preferences. The site works without cookies — you may just see less relevant outreach from us elsewhere.

Data retention and security

We keep records only as long as needed for the purposes above and for our legal obligations as a nonprofit (donation records, for instance, follow IRS retention requirements). We use reputable providers and limit access to personal information to the people who need it to do their work.

Children

Our site and events are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes and contact

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Questions, corrections, or deletion requests: email info@familiesoutloudevents.com and we'll take care of it.
